What Is Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM)?
Remote Therapeutic Monitoring, or RTM, is a way for our physical therapy team to support you between your in-person visits. We use a secure app to help track your progress, keep you on schedule with your home exercises, and stay connected with you during your recovery.
How RTM Helps You
Keeps you on track with your home exercises
Lets you tell us how you're feeling (like pain levels or stiffness)
Allows us to adjust your treatment more quickly
Helps you get better, faster, with more support between sessions
According to a study by Medicare, patients using RTM recover up to 35% faster
How It Works
We help you get started by setting up the app and showing you how to use it
You follow your custom home exercise plan and log your activity in the app
You enter feedback about how you're feeling, such as pain levels or mobility
Our physical therapy team reviews your progress, may message you, or check in by phone
This helps us guide and adjust your care, even when you’re not in the clinic
Will It Cost Me Anything?
RTM is a medical service that can be billed to your insurance. Depending on your specific plan, it may be covered in full, applied to your deductible or coinsurance, or require a copay. Before starting, we will check your insurance and give you a Verification of Benefits (VOB). This will let you know if your plan covers RTM and whether you may owe anything. We want you to have this information up front.
What Do I Need to Do?
RTM is a standard part of care at PT by Phoenix for patients with insurance coverage. To participate, you’ll need to use the App a few times each week, aiming to log your activity at least 2-16 days each month. It's also important to respond to any check-ins from our therapists. If you ever have questions, we’re always here to help.
Questions?
We’re happy to help. If you’re unsure about anything related to RTM, the App, or your insurance coverage, just ask your therapist or front desk team.
